Dalton/Pryor Still Available

Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor had monster games in week eight and both can still be had in the majority of fantasy leagues across the country.

Analysis: Andy Dalton is playing out of his mind right now. He’s thrown for over 1,000 passing yards in his last three games. He has 11 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in that three game span. Last week we mentioned that it was the “last call” on Andy Dalton- he was available in 20-75% of leagues, now he’s only available in 5-57% of leagues. Even if you only pick him up to be a QB2 on your squad he is a must own.

Terrelle Pryor is a completely different animal. He’s rushed for over 200 yards in his last four games and has 5 total touchdowns in that span. He only recorded a 25.7 passer rating against the Steelers in week eight but who cares when he continues to put up fantasy points on the ground. Up next for Pryor is the Eagles at home in week nine. He’s rushed for 50 plus yards in four of his six games this year, expect another one against Philly. Pryor is available in 40-75% of fantasy leagues.

Pass On Kenny Stills

Kenny Stills racked up 129 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on just 3 receptions Sunday afternoon against the Bills. He is certainly making some noise but is he a fantasy option for intelligent owners?

Analysis: Kenny Stills has 193 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in his last two games. The problem is he is putting up great numbers on a limited amount of targets. Stills only has 6 receptions on 7 targets in his last two games… that just won’t cut it in the fantasy world.

The other problem is that there is only one ball and tons of options for the Saints. Lance Moore is back from injury(22 TD last 3 years), Marques Colston still commands targets, Jimmy Graham is a dominant force and Darren Sproles is still getting plenty of looks out of the backfield. Kenny Stills may be racking up yards and touchdowns but those numbers are not reliable in the slightest going forward. He does make a fine sell high option at this point.

If you go against reason and still like Kenny Stills he is available in 85-99% of fantasy leagues.

Streaming Defenses- Week 8

Week seven is officially over and now it’s time to take a look at the “team to stream” in week eight.

Analysis: This week you have to take the Carolina Panthers on the road against the Bucs. The Bucs are 31st in the NFL in points per game at 14.5. The Bucs are also 31st in yards per game, 32nd in completion percentage, 29th in passer rating and 32nd in plays over forty yards with just one to their credit. Mike Glennon is sporting a 77.1 passer rating this year. He has thrown 3 interceptions and has been sacked 7 times in three games.

The Carolina defense on the other hand should be owned in more fantasy leagues for weekly starts. The Carolina defense in 6th in the NFL in interceptions, 11th in fumble recoveries, 13th in sacks and 3rd in yards allowed per game. Expect the Carolina D/ST not only to be picked up for a week eight stream but even for a week nine start against the Atlanta Falcons. The Carolina D is available in 60-70% of fantasy leagues.

Last Call On Andy Dalton

Andy Dalton threw for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns in a victory against the Lions in week seven.

Analysis: Dalton has now thrown for over 700 yards and 6 touchdowns over the last two weeks. Both games were on the road and against respectable defenses(DET/BUF). Dalton has a tough test with the Jets in week eight but he must be considered with the byes coming up.

Luck, Rivers, Flacco have byes and so does Cutler who may be out for a long time. You must also consider that Alex Smith and Ben Roethlisberger have not been reliable lately. At the moment Andy Dalton is available in 20-75% of fantasy leagues. He isn’t the most reliable fantasy quarterback either but he sure beats the alternatives out there on the wire(Palmer, Glennon, Geno Smith, Alex Smith).

Ryan Tannehill’s stock is rising after big games against the Colts and Ravens earlier this year. Although he only threw for 194 yards at home against the Bills this week he did throw 3 touchdowns. Up next for Tannehill and the Dolphins are the Patriots in week eight. Tannehill is available in 50-85% of fantasy leagues.

Big Days For Reed/Gibson/Douglas

Brandon Gibson, Harry Douglas and Jordan Reed had monster games in week seven.

Analysis: Both Brandon Gibson and Jordan Reed have put together consecutive solid fantasy performances. Brandon Gibson scored 2 touchdowns on 5 receptions for 40 yards today against the Bills. He has hit the 70 receiving yard mark in his two previous contests and now has 15 receptions over his last three games. Gibson is available in 93-99% of fantasy leagues.

Jordan Reed is one  athletic and versatile tight end. On Sunday afternoon against the Bears he caught 9 balls on 9 targets for 134 yards and 1 touchdown. Reed went for 58 receiving yards last week against the Cowboys on 6 targets. He is quickly becoming a low end TE1 and now is the time to grab him. Reed is available in 60-97% of fantasy leagues.

With Julio Jones out for the year and Roddy White out for now, Harry Douglas figured to play a larger role in the Atlanta offense this week. Douglas caught 7 balls for 149 yards and 1 touchdown today against the Bucs. He was a major add this past week but he is still available in 30-65% of fantasy leagues.
