Week 1 TE Recap

Martellus Bennett continues to put up solid numbers. Last year he recorded 759 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. Today against the Bills he caught 8 balls on 10 targets for 70 yards and 1 touchdown. Bennett was the 8th most targeted tight end last year and finished 9th in receiving yards. He is available in 7-10% of fantasy leagues.

Jared Cook will not be consistent this season. His quarterback situation is awful and his elite athleticism cannot make up for that. In week one he posted 4 receptions on 8 targets for 56 receiving yards. He has big play upside and is a touchdown threat but he remains an undervalued TE2. Cook is available in 75-90% of fantasy leagues.

And now we have that trusty old Jaguar… Marcedes Lewis. In week one Lewis caught 6 balls on 9 targets for just 35 receiving yards. He caught 4 touchdowns in 11 games last year and has 18 touchdowns in his last 58 games played. He remains one of the very few Jacksonville red zone threats. When Blake Bortles finally gets the nod Lewis’ value will rise into high end TE2 territory. Lewis is available in 90-99% of fantasy leagues.
