Your fantasy season is in the hands of Michael Vick

Michael Vick will be playing on Tuesday night, leaving the fates of many fantasy super bowl games anxiously awaiting the 8PM EST kick-off time.

Analysis: It’s no secret that Michael Vick has propelled many fantasy teams to where they are now.  He has been on fire as of late and his stat-line should look good by the time the Vikings / Eagles game concludes.  The real question is, will it be enough for you to win your fantasy super bowl?

High/Low: Expect 25 to 35 points for Vick, but has the potential to put up a 50 spot on any given week.

Hines Ward is not a safe start for week 16

Hines Ward had 34 yards receiving against the Jets in week 15 with only 3 receptions.  He was targeted 3 times by Ben Roethlisberger.

Analysis: Hines Ward is still an extremely unreliable fantasy option.  Fantasy owners were hoping for the best but expecting the worst against the Jets and that is exactly what happened.   Week 16 the Steelers play the Panthers but there is no guarantee that Ward will perform well against them.  If you have no other option then feel free to roll with Ward but he is nothing more than a low end #2 or high #3 option for Week 16.

High/Low: Expect Ward to range from 1 to 7 fantasy points in week 16.

Start Ryan Torain for week 16

Ryan Torain rushed 11 times to lead Washington with 53 yards against the Cowboys in week 15. He added five catches for 48 yards one TD.

Analysis:  Torian managed to have a decent game considering the Redskins were down for a majority of the day.  Had the game been closer, Torian would have had around 20 rushing attempts.  Torian is a safe play as a #2 running back against the Jags in week 16.  He has strung together back to back solid weeks since coming back from injury and should continue to do so next week.

High/Low: Expect Torian to have 8 to 20 fantasy points against the Jaguars in Week 16.

Gates looks unlikely to play for week 15

Antonio Gates owners had to deal with the news that he would not play in week 14.  With a short week, do not expect Gates to suit up in week 15 either.

Analysis: Coach Norv Turner said: “I always hold out hope with Antonio, but at some point you have to be realistic”.  You should have already picked up a tight end to play this week in place of Gates.  It is starting to look like Gates may not make an appearance during the fantasy playoffs.  Randy McMichael has not looked too impressive, so I wouldn’t just pencil him in your lineup unless you have no other option.

Consider benching Cedric Benson against the Steelers

Cedric Benson ran for 49 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints in week 13.

Analysis: Fantasy owners had to be pleasantly surprised that Benson managed to find the end zone twice against a fairly solid Saints defense.  This weeks match up against the Steelers is even more difficult as they rank 1st in the league in rushing.  This season has been very up and down with Benson, and it looks like this week will be a down one.  Owners should consider benching him for a better option.

High/Low:  Expect a single digit game from Benson ranging from 3 to 7 points.
