Big Days For Reed/Gibson/Douglas

Brandon Gibson, Harry Douglas and Jordan Reed had monster games in week seven.

Analysis: Both Brandon Gibson and Jordan Reed have put together consecutive solid fantasy performances. Brandon Gibson scored 2 touchdowns on 5 receptions for 40 yards today against the Bills. He has hit the 70 receiving yard mark in his two previous contests and now has 15 receptions over his last three games. Gibson is available in 93-99% of fantasy leagues.

Jordan Reed is one  athletic and versatile tight end. On Sunday afternoon against the Bears he caught 9 balls on 9 targets for 134 yards and 1 touchdown. Reed went for 58 receiving yards last week against the Cowboys on 6 targets. He is quickly becoming a low end TE1 and now is the time to grab him. Reed is available in 60-97% of fantasy leagues.

With Julio Jones out for the year and Roddy White out for now, Harry Douglas figured to play a larger role in the Atlanta offense this week. Douglas caught 7 balls for 149 yards and 1 touchdown today against the Bucs. He was a major add this past week but he is still available in 30-65% of fantasy leagues.

Streaming Defenses- Week 7

With week six officially over it’s time to take a look at the “team to stream” in week seven.

Analysis: This week we will take the Miami Dolphins coming off a bye week at home against the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo quarterback Thad Lewis was serviceable in week six at home against the Bengals but he did get banged up and playing on the road is a different animal altogether. Miami pass rusher Cameron Wake is expected to play this week which is always a plus for the eight point favorite Dolphins.

Miami is a middle of the road defensive team in most statistical categories. They have performed well from a fantasy perspective with the exception of the Monday night game in New Orleans. Before Miami’s bye this past week they held Joe Flacco to a 73.6 passer rating and also held Ray Rice to a 2.7 yards per carry average on 27 rushing attempts. As for the Buffalo offense- we don’t know much. Thad Lewis isn’t expected to light it up on the road and CJ Spiller has been a non-factor with the ankle injury.

The Dolphins D/ST is available in 80-90% of fantasy leagues.

Stock Rising- Sam Bradford

Sam Bradford threw for just 117 passing yards on 12/16 passes but his stock continues to rise for the second week in a row.

Analysis: Bradford threw 3 touchdown passes Sunday afternoon in Houston and now has 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in his last two games. This year Bradford is sporting a 13 TD to 3 INT ratio. He may not be passing for over 300 yards each week but averaging over two touchdown passes each game and not turning the ball over is getting the job done.

Drew Brees and Terrelle Pryor have byes in week seven while Jay Cutler, Andrew Luck, Joe Flacco and Philip Rivers have byes the following week. Bradford is available in 15-30% of fantasy leagues. Next up for the Rams are the Panthers in week seven followed by the Seahawks and the Titans. Injuries are mounting for quarterbacks around the league so stockpiling some QB depth may be in order especially considering all the bye weeks coming up for some of the big name starters out there.

Week 6 WR Recap

Let’s take a look at some of the big performances by fantasy wide outs in week six.

Analysis: Riley Cooper had himself a big day on Sunday afternoon against the Bucs. Cooper caught 4 balls on 6 targets for 120 yards and a touchdown. Cooper isn’t the most reliable fantasy wide out though. Today was his first game with more than two receptions and 30 receiving yards this year. Cooper may get some love on the wire this upcoming week but it would be wise to avoid him. He is available in 90-97% of fantasy leagues.

Emmanuel Sanders is another under the radar wide out to check out. Sanders posted 3 receptions on 6 targets for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Jets. Sanders has two 70 plus receiving yard games this year and four games he has surpassed the 55 yard mark. He’s not going to be a touchdown/red zone performer but he should rack up a decent amount of yards with the Steeler running game missing in action. Sanders is available in 15-50% of fantasy leagues.

Brandon LaFell is another wide out like Cooper that will be hard to trust going forward. LaFell put up 107 yards on only 4 receptions with a touchdown against the Vikings; he now has 3 receiving touchdowns this year. LeFell has been targeted more than five times just twice this season. He makes more sense than Cooper and can be considered a depth add. He is available in 80-95% of fantasy leagues.

Streaming Defenses- Week 4

Week three is officially over and now it’s time to take a look at the “team to stream” in week four.

Analysis: This week we will take the Colts D/ST against the Jags. Indy held the 49ers to just seven points on Sunday, forcing two turnovers and recording three sacks. The Indy defense did play well the first two weeks of the season so a date with Jacksonville this week shouldn’t scare anyone.

Jacksonville is 32nd in the NFL in total offense, 21st in turnover margin, 32nd in points at 9.3 per game, 32nd in sacks allowed and 22nd in interceptions thrown. This is all a recipe for fantasy success. The Colts on the other hand are 9th in sacks, 13th in interceptions, 9th in forced fumbles and 6th in points per game against at 16.0 per game. The Colts D/ST is available in 97-99% of fantasy leagues.

Through three weeks our “team to stream” has scored 27 fantasy points, that’s more points than the Niners and Texans which were considered top three fantasy defenses on draft day. Aren’t you glad you didn’t waste a pick on defense this year?
