Minor Fantasy Assistant Improvements

There have been a few minor changes to the fantasy assistant that are worth noting.    Injury icons are now shown for injured players so you are aware they are listed on the injury report.   This should help alleviate confused users as to why some guys are recommended who have no shot of coming back anytime soon.

Additionally I added the faceoffs won category for NHL fantasy leagues in the Fantasy Assistant.  It has been requested by users and I am glad to oblige. 🙂

NHL Fantasy Assistant & NHL Trade Analyzer Updates

Fantasy hockey season is just starting to heat up now that it is approaching mid to late February.  I wanted to make sure that hockey fans got the same feature updates that the NBA and NFL already received.  This long awaited update is for you!

The changes shown here apply to the Fantasy Assistant, Hockey Trade Analyzer, and the newly released NHL Start/Sit tool to help with start/sit decisions.

  • Fantasy Assistant has the ability to look for the best available LW/C/RW and D.
  • When searching for waiver wire suggestions, the Fantasy Assistant has support for the following categories: goals, assists, powerplay goals, shorthanded goals, shots on goal, hits, wins, and shutouts.
  • More in depth stats are shown under waiver wire suggestions for all players.
  • Much improved accuracy for player ratings, including 6 new statistical categories that are now analyzed.
  • NHL Start/Sit tool has been launched to help you to set lineups.

As always, if you need more categories for the fantasy assistant or notice any bugs please make a comment here or email me directly.

NBA Fantasy Assistant Updates

The Fantasy Assistant for the NBA just got a whole lot better.  Fantasy basketball players are involved in a wide range of leagues these days.  Some play in straight H2H leagues with points, while others play in leagues where categories decide the winner.  These latest batch of updates will make both of you very happy.

  • Accuracy of Low Risk & High Risk waiver wire pickups has been improved.
  • Ability to select best available SF/PF/C or PG/SG to replace any player you have on your team.
  • New category based recommendations include: PPG, AST, RPG, and FG%.

If you guys need more categories added then I am sure I will hear from you soon enough.  Also, expect to see similar enhancements like these for the upcoming baseball season.  That’s right!  BASEBALL!

UPDATE: Jared wanted more categories (see comments below).  New categories include 3PM, 3P%, and BLK.

More NFL Fantasy Assistant Enhancements

Today marks two major additions to the Fantasy Assistant. The first additional feature is on the player news front.  As you know, FantasySP collects and sorts news from hundreds of top sources.  The goal is to give you the most thorough player news possible to help you make informed decisions.  This is great, but the Fantasy Assistant only let you read the latest article.  No more!  You are now able to flip through dozens of news articles while doing research on your players right inside the Fantasy Assistant or Trade Analyzer.  Click on their “News” link or tab and browse around to view more articles.  Then simply click on the source link to view the article in its entirety.

The second major feature addition involves Flex Options.  These are positions that let you start a RB or WR, TE or WR, etc on your team.  Now the Fantasy Assistant will suggest waiver wire pickups for these flex positions.

New Flex Options!

Football Fantasy Assistant Updates

A major new release (version 5.x) to the Fantasy Assistant has just gone live. This update applies to both FantasSP users and CBSSports App Users.  It includes loads of goodies, but here are the main features/changes:

  • DST Support Added – Defense / Special Teams now have stats and waiver wire suggestions.  There are a lot of useful and unique stats that are collected and analyzed.  I encourage all users to dive into their breakdowns.
  • High Risk Waiver Wire Suggestions Enabled – High Risk suggestions have been a work in progress for some time and have finally been turned on.  Low Risk suggestions will be released next week.
  • 2012 Stats – All stats are now using the 2012 season.  However, it also will look back at the 2011 season for analysis.
  • iPad /Safari Fix – A major issue affecting iPad/Safari and some Internet Explorer users has been fixed.  This fixes the “Please refresh your browser” error affecting CBSSports App users.  Thanks to everyone who has been so patient until I could fix this.
  • Yearly Comparison Changes – All players now have yearly comparisons easily visible alongside their player stats.  Yearly comparisons work by comparing the current point in the season to the same time last season.  So right now you can compare how a player has done in week 1 this season vs week 1 last season.  This gets updated on a weekly basis.

I have even more features planned for the Fantasy Assistant.  Stay tuned in the coming weeks as these are gradually rolled out.
